From Seattle, Washington to San Francisco, California
Caitlin + Braden are planning a destination wedding in Monterey, California and had booked their Engagement Session during one of their wedding planning trips. We had everything set for the first week of February and had originally planned to do their Engagement Session down in Big Sur. However, life had other plans. After having to shift some things around, change the dates of their trip, and coordinate all of our schedules, the only date I was going to be able to accommodate their session was on a Sunday...but they needed to fly home that night which means we would have had to do their session much earlier in the day to accommodate their evening flight out of SFO.
I didn't like this...at all. The timing we would have had to do would have been mid-day, meaning that if it was a clear sunny day, the lighting had the potential to be very harsh. While Wedding Photographers know how to shoot in all lighting situations throughout all parts of the day, there are still optimal times to do sessions (Golden Hour is obviously the most requested time). Wanting them to have the best lighting possible, I suggested moving their Engagement Session to somewhere in San Francisco that way we could do their session later in the day with better light and they would be closer to SFO and wouldn't have to stress the drive / possible traffic. So they picked this beach with a gorgeous view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the background!
Oh my gosh when I say that Caitlin + Braden were naturals, that's an understatement! Their love is fun, silly, warm, romantic, and adventurous.
We ran around the beach (avoiding the masses of people who were there) and laughed so much. These two are so sweet, have a deep connection to one another, and are incredibly in-tune with each others feelings and needs. Natural love is so easy to capture as it's just so evident. You can't hide it.
We got there right in time before the fog and wind rolled in making it incredibly chilly. We got to enjoy the sun, actually got to see the bridge, and got so many beautiful shots of these two!!
