"Our Theme is Airplanes and Lighthouses because we love Airplanes and Lighthouses"
When Crystal + Dan had their consultation with me, they were just so sweet and laid back! As we were discussing their wedding day vision, they told me that their theme was Airplanes and Lighthouses. Why? Because they love Airplanes and Lighthouses!
Once they booked, I just knew we had to incorporate both of these elements into their Engagement Session. Luckily, they were on the same page too! They decided to rent a plane (obviously the one in the photos) and fly down to the Watsonville Municipal Airport for their session and oh my gosh did we have fun!
This isn't just any plane, this is the exact plane where Dan popped the question! While in the air! So this plane is special to them and their love story and I'm so glad we were able to incorporate it into their Engagement Session. We were a little doubtful of the weather cooperating with us and had even scheduled a backup date just in case things didn't go our way but holy moly we had the most perfect day!
We started off at the Watsonville Municipal Airport and even got to go up in the air for a bit! It was so sweet being able to witness how they communicate while in the air and just how peaceful all of the views were from up there. After a good amount of time taking portraits with the plane in our background and then going up for a little flight, it was time to head to the Lighthouse!
Luckily, Santa Cruz has a handful of lighthouses and we chose this one because of how cute it is and the easy access to the beach! To see the way Crystal's face lit up when the lighthouse came into sight, she was just filled with pure joy. We walked along the pier, experienced a nearly empty Lighthouse where we were able to take many pictures without anyone else in the background, and then we got to splash around in the ocean a bit to end their session!
10/10 recommend incorporating your wedding theme into your Engagement Session, especially if it's as cool as freakin Airplanes + Lighthouses!!
